GAIT YANG DUO
Gait Yang Duo, formed in 2018 at the Royal Academy of Music, is a collaboration between two internationally award-winning young musicians: cellist Sarah Gait and pianist Yuanfan Yang.
The Duo are also prize-winning composers and have worked in the fields of jazz and improvisation as well as classical. Sarah and Yuanfan have made many appearances on BBC Radio 3 and BBC television, while featuring in publications including Classical Music Magazine and International Piano Magazine.
Since its formation, Gait Yang Duo has performed at venues across London and the UK, including (most recently) at St James Paddington and St Mary's Perivale. The duo perform appealing and inventive programmes, often pairing familiar works for their instruments with new commissions and hidden gems. Recital programmes bring an individual flavour, often concluding with the duo's own arrangements of Gershwin, jazz and even rock songs, along with live improvisation, for which both musicians have a special affinity.
